The national Park Lauca this located in the I Region and it
has a surface of 137,883 hectareas and one is in the commune of
Putre, province of Parinacota. It includes/understands the
premountain range and the plateau of the northeast end of the Region
of Tarapaca.
It presents/displays rains in summer and snow in the winter,
the climate is dry with 280 mm Of precipitation average annual and
one temperature average of 20°C in day and -5°C at night.
In the Park they stand out the Lake Chungara ,
Parinacota Volcanos of 6,342 ms of height; Pomerape of
6,282 ms of height; Guallarite of 6,060 ms of height and
6,050 Acotango of mts. Also, in the sector of the plateau
exists volcanicas boilers like the Ajoya , the Lava
Tejene and Fields like the Cotacotani.
In the Chungara Lake diverse activities like Excursions can
be made, Observationn de Flora and Fauna.
Routes of Acces
The main access to the Park constitutes the international
highway Ch-11, that unites the localities of Arica and Burned Inn.
It crosses the Park by the center and consists of two vias paved of
excellent quality and passable all year.
Others vias of secondary access are: by the North part, the
Visviri-Parinacota Route; by the Southwest the A-231 Route, to
traves of the Portezuelo de Chapiquña, and by the South the A-235
Route, that connects the park in the National Reserve vicuñas and
the rest of the existing protected solvestres?reas towards the south
of the plateau.

Footpaths of Excursion
Several footpaths exist in the park that have educative
purpose and that also favors observation of natural and/or cultural
resources.
The footpaths present/display the natural difficulties
since this located to 4,500 ms of height. It is not recommended
to make the routes to those who present/display problems with the
height. The footpaths of excursion are homing guidances, with
records that provide the visitor to them when it asks for it.
Footpath of excursion Cotacotani: The length of the footpath
is of 8 km and the time of trip is of 4 Hours.
Footpath of excursion of Parinacota: The length of the
footpath is of 3 km and the time of trip is of 1 Hour.
Lodging and food
Three restaurants of the rustico type, property of settlers
exist single, in the town of Chucuyo. All tipics drinks and meals
are sold. Outside the park one exists hosteria and two restaurants
that offer feeding.
